This website is for raising the profile of the quarries, to widen the scope of their use, gain support, push for appropriate funding and development of the wider site.
Specifically, we would like to finally see the development of the Trailhead centre and other facilities here for the local community and the wider visiting community.

Lee Quarry is nestled in Rossendale's 'Valley of Stone' by Bacup in Lancashire. Just a few minutes drive from M65 & M66 motorways.
Adjoining Stubbylee Park, Lee Quarry offers an adrenaline fuelled escape, or equally, calm walks in the park areas or along the Irwell Sculpture Trail.

Bacup's industrial heritage.

Bacup is a mill town nestled in the Rossendale Valley close to the border with West Yorkshire. Its origins trace back to Anglo Saxon times, however, it was the industrial revolution that allowed Bacup to come of age.
